Ferragine plans to focus more time on his family, his garden, greenhouse business (Bradford Greenhouses) and his local community.
“The experiences that I’ve had over these two decades are so wonderful that I really think it’s important for somebody else to shine in this spotlight,” said Ferragine, who expressed his gratitude to the Rogers family and the Breakfast Television team.

“I feel like we’ve grown up together. You’ve seen my kids grow up. You’ve seen me grow up. You’ve seen me go through hair growth and hair loss. It’s just been a wonderful journey,” Ferragine added.

Pugliese called Ferragine “Canada’s Al Roker,” referencing the longtime weather anchor on NBC’s Today Show.
“You are that staple, that icon we wake up and (we think) ‘What’s Frankie got to say today?’” said Pugliese. “Everyone just adores you because of the sunshine you put out every single day.”
While he won’t be appearing daily after this month, Ferragine said he may return for some occasional guest segments.
“I want to teach more people how to grow things,” he said. “I want people to feel good and really at the end of the day, I just want everybody to be good to each other.”
Ferragine hopes to spend more time with his sons, one of whom is currently training in Whistler, for freestyle skiing.
“The legacy you leave behind is your kids,” said Ferragine. “If you’re going to do anything in this world as parents, be a great parent.”
