Facebook is going passwordless. Here’s how to set up passkeys and use your fingerprint or face ID to login instead

Meta is the tech giant that owns Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. 

Meta is now joining a growing list of tech powerhouses going passwordless.

In an shared on Wednesday, the multinational tech giant that owns popular social media platforms Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, said it is rolling out passkeys for Facebook with availability on Messenger in the coming months.

Instead of using a password, a pass-key will let users sign in to their account using their face ID as shown in this screen grab.

To create a pass-key for Facebook go to Account Centre then Password and Security.
