Local contributors include ߲ݴýUrban Forest Friends, Nature ߲ݴýPollination Guelph, Tree Trust, the University of ߲ݴýArboretum, Yorklands Green Hub and the City of Guelph.
Local groups are branching out and planning all kinds of events for National Forest Week. If you love trees, you’re sure to find a great way to celebrate.
The week, noted (GUFF), is designed to educate citizens, honour trees and expand the canopy sheltering our city.

Sue Rietschin, of GUFF, said in a statement that many organizations are working together to support the urban canopy.
“This is the opportunity for citizens to have fun while demonstrating their support for trees and learning more about them,” Rietschin said.

Here are 10 fun events for National Forest Week, Sept. 21-27. Register now to secure your spot if needed.
Neighbourhood Forest Tree Walk — Sunday, Sept. 21 at Preservation Park (), 1 to 2:30 p.m., by Reep Green Solutions.
Forest Bathing at the Yorklands — Monday, Sept. 22 at , 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the Yorklands Green Hub.
Roots & Renewal: Forest Week at Ignatius — a week-long festival starting Monday, Sept. 22, including workshops, speakers and fun for the whole family at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre,
Forest History of Victoria Woods — Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the Arboretum (), 1:30 to 3 p.m. with Terry Schwann.
Book Club: “The Nature of our Cities” Q&A with Dr. Nadina Galle, author — Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the Arboretum (200 Arboretum Rd.), 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Noon Hour Walk: All About Seeds — Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the Arboretum (200 Arboretum Rd.), 1 to 2:30 p.m. Meet at Hales-McKay Shelter.
“Nature’s Best Hope” by Doug Tallamy — Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the Arboretum (200 Arboretum Rd.), 7 to 9 p.m.
